Our Network meeting on the 18th of July was focussed on all things green with guest speakers from Fujitsu, TFGM and Green Economy. The event was well attended, special thanks to all who came as well as our brilliant speakers. Following the meeting there was plenty of time for members to Network with other local businesses (with tea, coffee and biscuits for all!)
We began with a call to all our members to support “What’s My Job?” by volunteering during the 24/25 Academic Year. Lots more information, including a fantastic video, about how you can support this career aspiration programme for children in North Manchester is available via the above link.

Fujitsu then gave us an update on their Environmental Impact across Europe, and how they are promoting a carbon-free society. This included a taster of their Climate Fresk Workshop (something we are looking at bringing to the Network in its entirety in the future.)
TFGM spoke to us about their 2040 Transport Strategy, including growing the Bee Network, highlighting how this will benefit North Manchester and its ambitions to make the network as green as possible. We were given the opportunity to provide our feedback to TFGM as to how we would like to see the strategy progress, especially with regards to its environmental priorities. If you would like to give feedback to TFGM you can do via the business travel survey here.

Finally, we learnt about what funded support was available from Green Economy, by the Sustainability & Net Zero Lead with information on grants, available training and any upcoming opportunities.
Our next meeting will be on the 24th September at Arbeta, members will receive an invite and further information accordingly.
