Network Meeting 14/11 - HR Support & New Employment Laws + Big Coat Day

We had a fantastic network meeting in November which was focussed on HR Support and the New Employment Laws, as well as supporting FC United and Winning Hearts and Minds - Big Coat Day.

Our first speaker was Joanne Wells from Privilege HR. Joanne took the network through how smart HR practices can make a big difference for your business as well as outlining the benefits of having good HR support, highlighting the challenges that may crop up if you don't. Joanne also talked to members about some of the new employment laws recently announced and what they could mean for the business such as day one rights and statuary sickness from day one.

We then had Caroline Rayner from Knights PLC presenting information on the new duty to prevent sexual harassment which applied to all employer from 26th November. Caroline talked about what this meant for employers, what they should be doing to comply with the duty, the significance of the changes particularly around harassment involving third parties, and some examples of how it will work in practice.

Thanks also to everyone who brought donations to support FC United and Winning Hearts and Minds Big Coat Day.  If you were unable to attend or forgot to bring something to drop off you can do so at FC Uniteds Ground from the 23rd November.  Danny and Leonie from the two organisations could just about fit into there cars with all the donations they had to bring with them!

Thanks to all that attended yesterday from myself, Beckie and the team we will see you all in the New Year!
